The South Tama Trojans faced off against 10th ranked West Delaware in a double header on June 9, falling in both games by margins of 11-0 and 12-1, respectively.

South Tama was 3-9 heading into this matchup with West Delaware at 13-6.

The Trojans have been on a skid without having notched a win since their game with Union Community on June 1, while West Delaware has been finding their groove this season, currently sitting in the 10th spot in the Class 3A rankings.

Jacob Collison started the game for South Tama and threw 59 pitches through two innings before being taken out for Kian McBride.

Mcbride found some success after taking over, only allowing one run and no hits in his first inning on the mound. McBride threw 85 pitches with three strikeouts until he was taken out for Jordan Bly, who finished out the game for the Trojans, in the sixth inning.

Bly was also the main source of offense for South Tama in game one, going 2-for-3 with two singles.

West Delaware would win the first game 11-0.

In game two, Ryne Kesl and Daniel Wiese took the mound. Kesl pitched four innings and added a strikeout. Wiese would take the other two innings and add in a strikeout himself.

South Tama’s lone RBI belonged to Gavin Bridgewater. Bridgewater went 2-for-2 with two singles.

West Delaware’s Peyton Aldrich Jr. pitched a complete game against the Trojans, allowing only three hits that night adding in six strikeouts to keep South Tamas bats cold.

The Trojans’ schedule doesn’t get any easier from here on out. Next week, they will be facing 12-3 Clear Creek-Amana, who currently sits at the top of WaMaC West, 8-7 Nevada at Principal Park, 10-4 Marion at home and 3-8 Woodward-Granger.
