After the light switch was flipped and the sun lit up on a muggy, humid summer morning full of sweat-slicked humans, the usual bunch of bureaucratic rubberneckers made their way to this week’s Tama County Supervisors meeting. Things began with the roads report, which stated that they are spraying, pulling shoulders, and hauling rock, among other work.

One of the more interesting things during this meeting was that the board approved moving forward with Stuart Cochrane to advise on legal matters with the secondary roads union.

Two utility permits for Poweshiek Water Association were approved. A contract for a one day consultation on the Secondary Roads Annual Report and SD Bridge report was approved.

Two tax certificates were approved with the recipient paying half. A temporary liquor license for Sips in Motion was approved. Non-departmental claims of $1,378.08 and regular claims of $356,897.52 were approved.
