A flutter and a flick of magic’s trick, and the annual The Faery Experience was enjoyed by crowds of those interested in the fantastic. The yearly event out at Windy Goat Acres in Chelsea saw people come from all over to have a bit of fun on Saturday, Aug. 22.

Kids ran and played in costume as adults walked majestically with feathers and wings fluttering behind them. Vendors were spread out across the farm for attendees to peruse. Whether you wanted to get some amazing photos taken, have your fortune told, or buy a piece of jewelry to keep your chakras in line, the vendors were diverse and plentiful.

Art was the undercurrent of the Faery Retreat, which seems to tie everything together. From the large pieces of art all around the farm to the vendors and activities available. At no point during the retreat was there not at least one fairy creating art, from the stupendous paintings to the magical music.

If you weren’t able to don your wings or flowers and attend this year, never fear; there is always next year. But, in the meantime, make sure to keep an eye on what else they are doing out there. Owners Jessica Kettler and Jim Carney are always doing something out there worth seeing.
