Clarification of Senator Sodders’ Endorsements

Two points will clarify misunderstandings centered on the article explaining Senator Sodders’ endorsements.

First, there are types of endorsements: monetary only, public statement only, or a combination of both.

Secondly, by checking the Secretary of State’s website, one can find candidates’ campaign contributions. This information is public record.

This is a list of endorsements of any of the three types cited above, and the list is more specific and inclusive. Alliant Energy workers -political action committee; Association of Business and Industry (a conservative-leaning group that endorsed Senator Sodders); Corn Growers – monetary and written endorsement; Casey’s political action committee; Association of General Contractors of Iowa – a money donation.

And Iowa Fire Fighters – money and public endorsement; Iowa Hospital Association – money and written endorsement; Justice for All – political action committee; National Electrical Contractors Association; Wellmark – political action committee; Dupont -Good Government Fund; Teamster Law Enforcement League.

And Hy-Vee – political action committee; Heavy Highway Workers – political action committee; Iowa Telecom Association – political action committee; Agri-Business – money and written endorsement; General Contractors of Iowa – money; National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors – money and written endorsement; Credit Union – political action committee; Pork Producers – David Calderwood; ABATE – money and endorsement; Iowa Rural Water -political action committee; Rural Electric Cooperatives – money; Independent Insurance Agencies -money.

Once again, any questions concerning a candidate’s endorsements can be answered through the Attorney General’s website as it is public record.
