STC boys soccer snag first win of season over W. Delaware

The South Tama boys soccer team kicked off their season on April 6 with two away games. The Trojans first faced Grinnell and fell 0-4. STC then travelled to Solon where the Spartans came out ahead 2-3 after an overtime.

The Trojan first home game of the season was on Tuesday April 11. They hosted West Delaware for a Wamac conference matchup. After the first two losses the Trojans were really looking for that first win. STC had quite a dominating performance winning 6-1.

Taylor Boldt and Kolbie Clark led the Trojans in scoring with two goals each. Alexis Chavarria and Joel Medina each added a goal. STC goalie Jake Wilkerson had an excellent night defending the goal from West Delaware’s 12 attempts to score.

Since their win at home the Trojans have been on the road. They travelled to Clear Creek Amana on Thursday, April 13 where they faced the Class 2A No. 13 ranked Clippers. CCA won the match up 5-0. STC then travelled to Center Point-Urbana on Tuesday, April 18 and fell to the Pointers 2-0.

The Trojans will be home again on Thursday, April 27 where they will take on Iowa Falls-Alden
