A week away- June 5- It’s Farmers Market Time

With Some Restrictions

Dawn Troutner Toledo Market Manager

The Toledo Farmers’ Market is excited to start the season, but obviously with concerns about safety of both our vendors and our customers. The following changes have been made to the market effective for the 2020 season, until it is deemed safe to do otherwise. This will not be the year to have a social market. Please keep your distance and do not linger on the Courthouse Square.

The market is scheduled to TENTATIVELY open on June 5 from 5-7 p.m.; this may change depending on Governor Reynolds proclamations and advice of our local Public Health agency.

The Toledo Farmers’ Market will be limiting time spent at the market. Please do not sit around the monument and crowding around the vendors tables. People should not linger at the market.

There will be no live entertainment for the 2020 season; along with that there will be no food stands allowed to set up to sell sandwiches, etc for the 2020 season.

Please follow the rules & maintain a six- oot social distance when waiting to shop at the Toledo Farmers’ Market.

If you have any questions please contact Dawn Troutner at 641-691-9710 or email at toledofarmersmarket@yahoo.com or send a message thru our facebook page Toledo Farmers Market.

We hope you will be attending the Toledo Farmers’ Market as either a vendor or a customer. Please understand these rules are for the safety of everyone.

These rules were sent to all markets in the State of Iowa. The Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship, Iowa Farmers’ Market Association, ISU, along with the State of Iowa Department of Health worked together to form these rules so markets could open for 2020.

If we work together we can have a safe successful market.

suggestions for best practices to use at the Toledo Farmers’ Market:

If you are ill, PLEASE DO NOT attend the market.

Masks are strongly encouraged.

Only one person from households.

We strongly urge children under 16 to stay home. If they attend please wear a mask.

No pets, service animals are exempt.

Please do not handle all the products. If possible just pick up what you would like to purchase. Please maintain six-foot distance from vendors and other customers. The vendor will be happy to assist and help you. It is encouraged to have you preorder from your favorite baker each week. Those orders can be picked up from 4:30 to 4:45 or after 6. This will help with the congestion around the vendor’s tables.

Please utilize the hand washing tables along with the hand sanitizer on the vendor’s tables.
