South Tama School Board members spent close to four and one-half hours in closed session on Wednesday night March 21 to apparently consider an candidate for district superintendent.
Board minutes identify Roger Wilcox, a representative of Grundmeyer Leader Research as also present for the meeting. The firm was retained by the board to assist in hiring a replacement for current Superintendent Jeff Berger who announced in January he no longer wanted to be under consideration for the post.
The board adjourned without any action taken. A time line set earlier lists April 13 as the date preferred for naming a new superintendent.
A special meeting on Thursday morning, March 22, lasting only 35 minutes had the board approving non-certified letters of agreement with staff including custodial, bus drivers and food service staff.
The board also accepted the resignation of Laura Edwards, middle school language arts teacher..
