Quick and to the point: This week’s Toledo City Council meeting
This week’s Toledo City Council meeting started with setting the date for a public hearing to sell property. The parcel of land in question is near the recycling area, and they set the public hearing for Aug. 24.
Next up was the FY26 City of Toledo Annual Financial Report review; it was approved.
The Public Works Department reported rebuilding a storm sewer on Madison as well as persistent issues with roots in sewers around town. The Summit and 63 traffic light has been fixed.
The City Attorney reported that the Iowa Supreme Court wants to have oral arguments in town in November. Updates on nuisance issues were discussed as well.
Toledo Police Chief Dan Quigley reported that from July 13-26, they responded to 166 calls for service and made seven arrests.
