South Tama schools personnel changes approved

South Tama School Board members approved a number of staff changes at a special meeting on Wednesday night, July 13.
Board members Michelle Yuska Mark McFate, Penny Tynisimiaa, Jackie Dvorak and Alan Kline were all present.
Personnel contracts approved included Sarah O. Mallen, high school social studies, Kaylin Meek, elementary 4th grade, Molly McCreary, elementary special education K-2 each with annual pay of $37,685;. Also contracts for Heather Chamberlain, high school biology at $41,496; and Mike Stein, assistant varsity boys football, $3.275.
An internal transfer was Ellen Moran from Middle School behavior interventionist to High School behavior interventionist.
A list of T.L.C. teachers was presented. They include Heather Garrett, 4th Grade, Alice Koch, 1st grade, Marilyn Rippy, elementary music, Amy Stewart , first grade, Jon Huebner, 5th grade, George Kuhter, 8th grade social studies, Paula Miller, 6th Grade Science, Karen Mixdorf, 7th Grade special education, Amy Stotts, 7th Grade Language Arts, Chelsea Ahrens, High school social studies, Scott Bolen high school Health and physical education, Emily Chyma, High School Social Studies, Nancy Dostal , High School Language Arts, Dixie Forcht, Secondary Library & Media, Debra Lacina for High School Special Education, Katie Murphy and Deanna Zmolek for High School Language Arts.
Also, volunteer coach is Darvin Graham for varsity assistant baseball coach.
Resignations
Resignations received: Ian Tayner, high school math and head boys soccer, effective Feb. 26; Seth Koch, high school student council advisor; Ashley Steven, middle school 7th grade math; and Amber St. John for elementary educational aide, all effective at the end of the 2015-16 school year.
The election was held on April 5 for the extension of the Revenue Purpose Statement and the board voted to accept the election results as presented
Four bids were received for the removal of asbestos in the high school building with the lowest from Advanced Environmental (Jay Llewellyn) 803 Ricker Street Waterloo -$14,300. Other bidders were Environmental Property Solutions, Des Moines, REW Services Corporation, Des Moines and Site Services, Algona.
