STC wiped out by Benton

In their only contest of the week, South Tama varsity volleyball handed over three straight sets in a WaMaC conference loss to Benton on Sept. 14.

The Bobcats dominated sets one and two, winning 25-14 and 25-18.

South Tama made a strong push in the third set but ended up falling by a score of 25-20.

The Bobcats were led by a trio of attackers including Grace Embretson, Alyssa Tegeler and Piper Nelson who each scored 11 kills on the night.

South Tama was led by Gracie Vest and Kortney Babinat who were both held in check and limited to five kills apiece.

Vest was the digs leader for the team with 11, ahead of Mollie Wobeter who had six and Lauren Veit who had five.

At the service line the Trojans were also limited to two aces, one by Wobeter and the other by Babinat.

South Tama will host a home tournament this Saturday beginning at 9 a.m. The Trojans are set to face BGM and Perry, as well as Grinnell for the third time this season.
