The game started at 4:30 with Abby Llewellyn in goal. Defensive line was Olivia Terrones, Emily Terrones , Savanna Lopez, and Carina Chavarria. Midfield starters were Jaelin Berger, Haley Dunning, Abby Ryan, and Esmeralda DeLaTorre. Forwards were Aleks Beha and Ariana Avila

Solon won the toss and the game was on. Solon lived up to their ranking by dominating the opening minutes. ST/EM could not find an answer to Solon’s #7. She took the ball and dribbled thru the defense to take the first shot and it was a goal. She ended up the night with all nine goals for Solon. ST/EM found answers to the rest but not to her. The first half was all Solon, as they controlled the tempo and had the majority of ball control. It did not help that ST/EM lost Lopez to a minor injury in the 13th minute, and was unavailable for the rest of the game. Half time score was 6-0 in favor of Solon.

In the second half ST/EM started to play better, and kept Solon at bay, until the 17th minute. At that point the ST/EM team lost their goalie to a red card, and the ensuing PK was converted for a 7-0 lead. ST/EM put Salma Razak in goal for the rest of the game. Solon scored two more times in the next few minutes for a 9-0 lead with 20 minutes to go. ST/EM playing down a man, tried to generate a score. Emily had a free kick, but the Solon goalie made a good save. Jaelin and Autumn also had shot on goal but again at the goalie for saves. ST/EM kept Solon off the board for the rest of the game and the final score was 9-0 in favor of Solon.

This was a tough game for the ST/EM team. They played well at times, but just did not have an answer for #7 from Solon. The team played hard, and kept working, but Solon was the better team this evening. STC/EM host Ranked Clear Creek Amana on Thursday.
