In the gospel of Matthew, Jesus tells a story about a king who commends his subjects for helping him when he was hungry, thirsty, without clothes, in prison or sick. The subjects professed ignorance about ever having done these things for him but the king replied “when you helped the least among you, you helped me as well.” Naturally the implication is that Jesus is the King in the story and that his presence is hidden in those who are sick, hungry, naked and imprisoned. Jesus identified with the least in the society and expects us to do the same.

I can think of no weaker member of today’s society than our unborn children. The approximately 56 million legally killed babies through abortion since 1973 received no help from us. We have turned our heads the other way, tried hard to not think about it and tried even harder to rationalize our behavior and attitude to this atrocity. We make up reasons and excuses and talk about “Rights,” but when are we going to get the courage to stand up for these children, the absolute weakest members of our society? Everyone has rights except a baby living in the womb.

Every now and then I see an ad on television showing abused animals, dogs, cats, horses and the like. It saddens me to see this and I am not at all offended by the pictures I see. How many people, such as you and me, have seen pictures of aborted children? Do we even know how abortion works and to what extent the “procedure” might hurt the unborn child?

Have you ever thought about it? I wonder if we saw on television ads of babies being aborted if we would be saddened–or offended?

f you believe in abortion, the least you should do is watch, study and learn about the various abortion procedures. Then make an educated decision.

In closing, I saw a posting of Facebook which showed a person looking up towards heaven and asking,” Hey God, why haven’t you sent anyone with cures for cancer and all of our other debilitating diseases?”

And God answers that He has.

The man resounds, “Then where are they?”

God replies solemnly, “You aborted them.” Now the question is, “Are you saddened or offended?”
