Elberon Auxiliary plans upcoming event

ELBERON – The Elberon American Legion Auxiliary met June 13. The meeting opened with flags in place. The Vacant Chair was read by President Lorraine Vileta and the group joined in the reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance and the Preamble to the Constitution of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Secretary Norma Riha called roll of the officers and read the minutes of the May meeting. Treasurer Pat Sauer gave the financial report. Both reports approved as read.

The Auxiliary reviewed the Memorial Day program presented at the National Cemetery. The weather was great and those taking part did a good job. The speaker was Eric Rosario, who really captured the good size audience attention.

The Poppy cans were gathered and appreciate those who donated for a poppy.

The Elberon Auxiliary will host the June 25 Tama County Legion and Auxiliary meeting. A noon potluck will be held followed by the annual flag disposal ceremony led by the Clutier legion. A joint meeting will follow.

The currant officers will also hold the office for the following year.

Riha won the door prize and served lunch.
