If you were around the high school campus last week you may have heard some additional noise. Soaring brass lines, a perfectly in sync pit ensemble, and powerful battery percussion, all characteristics of the Colt Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps.
Arriving late in the evening on Thursday June 13, the group got some rest and kicked off their week-long stay, departing the following Friday.
While at STC, the group got their show, entitled “The Woods,” off the ground and to a place where they could give a public performance on Monday night.
STC has hosted several Corps stretching back to the parent organization of the Colt Cadets, the Colts staying for a week in 2021.
STC Band Director Mike Carnahan commented positively on the many benefits of having these visiting groups in our community. With a big strength being their willingness to help the high school band and aid in their continuous growth.

On their last night rehearsing on campus, a full moon illuminated the field during a final run through. Highlighting each performer and how far the Corps had come in a week, while providing a fitting setting for their show, the Woods.
