Ludwig and Reva Dostal observe 70th wedding anniversary

Ludwig and Reva Dostal 1946 and 2016

Ludwig Dostal, son of Lewis and Mary Dostal, and Reva Caster daughter of Everett and Orpha Caster, were united in marriage on July 18, 1946, at the St. Patrick’s Church in Tama. They farmed for the first 30 years, eight in the Garwin area and the other years in the Toledo area.

Ludwig and Reva became the parents of 4 children- Alan of Lake Brownwood, TX, Randy of Toledo, Becky(Bill) Faircloth of Toledo and Kim(Judy) of Albion. They have been blessed with 11 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.

Ludwig worked for the Toledo Middle School, driving bus for four years and custodian for 20 years before he retired.

Reva returned to the workforce in the Clerk of Courts office for 20 years and retired as the Clerk of Court.

After retirement they enjoyed many trips twice to England and Washington D.C., Nashville, TN, Branson, MO and many other places on bus tours. They also volunteered for over 15 years delivering Meal on Wheels, Lud took people to hospital appointments and handed out a lot of Tootsie Rolls for the Knights of Columbus and Reva volunteered one day a week at Bethesda Nursing home(now Premier Estates) for over 10 years, Reva continues to volunteer for the St. Patrick church.
