Amanda Hulme and Eric Hayek exchange vows in Maryland

Amanda and Eric Hayek

Amanda Hulme, daughter of John Hulme and Jacqueline Hulme of Hawthorne, N. J., and Eric Hayek, son of John and Betty Hayek of Clutier, were married on July 19, 2013. The ceremony was held at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Baltimore, Md. Father Patrick Carrion officiated the ceremony and dinner and dancing followed in the Harbor Club of the Pier V Hotel.

Serving as maid of honor was Julie Frega, a friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Holly Grieder, Ashley Hayek, Jaimie Myers, Shannon O’Hea and Lauren Robinson. The flower girl was Lynley Hayek, niece of the groom.

Best man was Brian Hayek, brother of the groom. Groomsmen included Scott Berger, Matt Drewelow, Bryan Hart, John Hulme and Matt Sonntag.

The couple enjoyed a honeymoon in Antigua in August.

The bride is a 2009 graduate of the University of Delaware with a degree in History-Education and obtained a Masters of Teaching from Johns Hopkins University. She is currently a high school history teacher in Baltimore City Public Schools.

The groom is a 2009 graduate of Coe College where he majored in history and economics. He is currently pursuing a Masters of Science in Applied Economics at Johns Hopkins University in Washington, DC. He is a research analyst at the Conference Board in New York City. The two met through the Teach for America program while serving as corps members in Baltimore, where they currently reside.
