Leonard and Florence (Kalinay)Balvin exchanged wedding vows on June 23, 1953, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chelsea, Iowa.

They have been blessed with 11 children: Larry (Janet), Ellen (Tom) Upah, Jamie (Paul) Kupka, Jerry, Sally (Steve/Boat) Slaven, Jason, Aaron (Melissa) all of Chelsea, Joe (Colleen) of Elberon, Randy (Diane) of Brooklyn, Dan (Denise) of Belle Plaine, and Steve (deceased). They have 22 grandchildren (with another due later this year) and six great-grandchildren (with two more on the way).

The Balvin family invites friends and relatives to celebrate with them at an open house to be held on Saturday, June 22, 2013, beginning at 7 p.m. at St. Joseph School, Chelsea.
