Gerald and Irene Shayer

Gerald and Irene Shayer of Tama will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary.

The former Irene Lundt and Gerald Shayer were married on January 20, 1945 at the First Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. They have lived most of the married life in the Tama-Toledo area.

Their children are Chris (Quentin) McCune of Tama and Joel (Andrea) Shayer of Cotton Wood, Arizona.

They have two granddaughters, Jill (Scott) Heistand of Elk Grove Village, Illinois and Jessica (Tom) Tesar of North Liberty, Iowa. They have one great granddaughter, Emily Joy, of Elk Grove Village, Illinois.
