Facing some of the top archers in the country, members of the South Tama Archery Club turned in another impressive weekend at the 2026 NASP Western National Championships and Centershot Western Nationals in Sandy, Utah.

This year’s Western Nationals featured massive competition fields, with the Bullseye Nationals drawing 2,397 archers from 35 states and 289 schools, while the 3D Nationals included 2,130 archers representing 21 states and 218 schools.

South Tama County High School standout Ava Boldt once again emerged as one of the nation’s top competitors.

At the NASP Western Nationals, Boldt placed second in the High School Girls Bullseye division with a score of 293, earning runner-up honors for top overall female bullseye archer. She followed that with a dominant performance in the High School Girls 3D division, shooting a 294 to win the national championship and finish as the top overall female 3D archer.

Boldt also excelled during the Centershot Western Nationals competition held alongside the NASP event. She took home first place in High School Girls Bullseye with another score of 294, securing the title of top overall female bullseye competitor. She later added a seventh-place finish in the High School Girls 3D competition.

South Tama County Middle School archer Connor Bradley also produced a strong national showing.

Bradley placed ninth in the NASP Western Nationals Middle School Boys 3D division with a score of 283 and finished 16th in the bullseye competition. He later earned a podium finish at the Centershot Western Nationals by taking third place in the Middle School Boys 3D division with a score of 288.

The performances added to the continued success of the South Tama archery program on a national level, which continues to produce top archers not only in the state but the country.

Iowa archers collectively posted numerous top-10 finishes throughout the week, with athletes from Spencer, West Fork, Clark Community, Independence, and South Tama all earning recognition on the national stage.
