Autumn Elsbury to wrestle for Wartburg

In a post that has shocked the Iowa wrestling community, recent STC graduate Autumn Elsbury has committed to wrestle at Wartburg College starting this fall.

In a post on Monday, Elsbury shared her intentions,

“Better late than never… I’m excited to announce that I have committed to Wartburg college to continue my academic and athletic career.”

Further details about her decision followed in the post.

“It’s been a long time waiting and a lot of hard conversations and choices but overall I feel like Wartburg will be the best fit for me and I got the amazing opportunity to have Brady (the head coach) as one of my coaches at Fargo and I think for me this was the best option.”

Earlier in July, Elsbury took home a 6th place finish at Fargo in the Junior Women’s 190 pound class. During the tournament, she was aided by Wartburg’s head Women’s wrestling coach Brady Kyner.

With one of the most decorated women’s wrestling resumes of anyone in the state, Elsbury brings two state titles, multiple all-American honors, and a wealth of experience to the Knights in Waverly, Iowa.
