The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union released the 2019 post season volleyball pairings on Tuesday, October 8.

South Tama falls into Class 3A Region 7 and will face Tipton on Wednesday, October 23 at 7 p.m. at the Tipton Middle School.

Ranked third in Class 3A the Tipton Tigers are coached by Amy Calonder. They are in the River Valley Conference and are 26-5 this season. The Tigers are led by 2018 Class 3A Player of the Year and University of Utah commit, Sommer Daniel. Daniel currently is just shy of the top ten in Class 3A for kills. However, earlier this season she recorded a 31-kill game against Wilton, which is tied for second best this season in Class 3A. She has 293 kills this season and has a serve success of 355 of 381.

The Tigers finished their 2018 season in the State Championship contest where they fell to No. 1 ranked Kuemper Catholic.

The Trojans snagged their first conference win of the 2019 season over Vinton on Tuesday, October 8.
