There was no luck of the Irish for the weather on Saturday, March 9 but that didn’t stop the faithfuls from joining in for the 5th annual LepBARchaun Dash. Temps hovered around 26 degrees and it rained most of the morning including during the race.
This year the race began at Bumblebees Pizzeria in Toledo and ended at the Tama-Toledo Country Club in Tama. It was cold and rainy but everyone was in good spirits. Several also opted to sit the race portion out but were present for the rest of the days festivities.
Toledo’s Baron Davis dethroned longtime LepBARchaun Dash winner, Blake Keller, who was not at the race this year. Davis is the assistant cross country and wrestling coach for South Tama County High School.
The coveted best dressed award went to Jaret Probasco while most green went to Roni Sue Kapayou.
The race was sponsored by the Tama-Toledo Chamber of Commerce. The next 5K in town is slated for Lincoln Highway Bridge Festival on Saturday, May 18.
