Holtz, Tyynismaa qualify for Nationals

WAVERLY, Iowa– Qualifiers for the 2018 National Outdoor Track and Field Championships were announced on Saturday, May 19. The Championships will take place May 24-26 at UW-LaCrosse. Former South Tama tracksters Sam Holtz and Belle Tyynismaa qualified in the Shot Put and 4×400 Meter Relay and will compete in Nationals later this week.

Wartburg’s qualifiers – Women 200m dash: Teylor Jones 400m hurdles: Aubree Taylor 800m run: Betsy Duehr 5,000m run: Ashlyn Bagge (Bagge was an All-American in this event last year with her sixth-place finish; also a two-time indoor All-American in this event)

10,000m run: Bagge & Carina Collet (Bagge was an All-American in this event last year with her eighth-place finish) Shot put: Sam Holtz 4x400m relay: Duehr, Belle Tyynismaa, Jones, Taylor (This relay has had All-American finishes in 13 of the last 14 years. Duehr and Jones were members of the seventh-place relay last year.)
