We need law enforcement all the time. But every department should be purged of the “Chauvin” (the man who murdered Floyd) type of cop. There are people in every occupation that shouldn’t be in their job. They’re in law enforcement, too many in trucking, I even found two bear cats in medical. There should be supervisors and inspectors to weed out the dangerous ones. Our Iowa legislature went the opposite direction by giving Police “Immunity from lawsuits,” “99 percent Immunity from prosecution.” Only the state attorney general can decide if cops can be prosecuted. Is this any different than it is in communist China or in Russia? When government personnel are made “immune from the law and immune from prosecution,” it gives us “Government tyranny!” We’re going down that slippery slope, but we’re too dumb and complacent to know it.
