This November, the choice is clear as you vote for a new Tama County Treasurer.

It’s time for nepotism in Tama County government to end. Cast your vote for the truly independent candidate, Kathy Holtz for Tama County Treasurer.

On April 12, 2022, the Tama County Supervisors appointed Amanda Kriegel, as the acting County Treasurer, just in time for her name to appear on the ballot before the June primary. Republican Bill Faircloth of Toledo made the motion to appoint Kriegel, and Republican Larry Vest of Traer seconded it. Kriegel is a Republican candidate.

Amanda Kriegel is the daughter of Tama County HR and Insurance Administrator Tammy Wise. That’s called nepotism when County officials appoint family members of favored employees to a job, instead of choosing the most qualified candidate.

It’s also a direct conflict of interest, because ethically, it’s a concern when a mother is responsible for the county employees, as in the case for Tammy Wise as the HR Administrator, and her daughter, Amanda Kriegel, who is responsible for the County’s funds since the Supervisors appointed her as the acting Treasurer.

Cast your ballot for the clear choice and the qualified accountant for Tama County Treasurer. Cast your vote for Tama County Treasurer for Kathy Holtz, the truly Independent candidate in the November general election.
