You too may find you need Christ
Letter to the Editor:
Who am I:
Hi. My name is Ray Titcomb. some of you may know me as a painter/handyman.
Let me give you a bit of history of my life and tell you who I really am.
We’ll go back sixty-two years. I was twelve years old when my father was killed in a farming accident. Mom sold most of the farm equipment and livestock and moved to a small acreage at the edge of Grinnell.
I had, in my mind, a crazy religious uncle who ran me down and hauled me to church when he could catch me. Much to often I thought. That lasted four or five years.
From the time I was fourteen to the time I was twenty-five I worked at Weyrauch Greenhouse. The last five years I was a florists.
On March 4th, 1964, I moved to Tama and started working for E.S. Homes, now Amwood. I worked there sixteen and one half years.
The first of August, 1980, I was layed off. I decided to work for myself. Thus the painter/handyman image.
In 1970 the First Baptist Church, now the Reformed Baptist Church of Tama, bought a vacant lot behind where I live and moved a house onto it for the pastor to live in. He had a daughter about the age of my daughter, Brenda. She asked Brenda to go to church with her.
After a short time, Brenda asked me to go church with her. I did.
After weeks of listening to biblical preaching I realized I was a sinner. Christ offers to all who will repent of their sins and trust in Him as their Savior eternal life. I trusted in Christ.
I’m still a painter/handyman, but I’m also a Born Again Believer and a Child of God.
If you stop and consider your life, you too may find you need Christ.
Find a GOOD Bible teaching church and see if you also come to know Christ as your personal Savior.
