“Bring back the yard waste dumpster!”
Editor’s Note: The City Council apparently shared Noel Duffy’s view. See story in LOCAL NEWS – ‘Tama yard waste receptacle ordered back’
To the Editor:
“Bring back the yard waste dumpster!”
Fall is here…the leaves are already falling, the annuals and perennials will soon be dead. Do I really have to burn all that to get rid of it??
Surely the Council can find some place to burn brush and yard waste, that we can “easily” get to. Maybe by the sewer plant? Or the “coal chutes” road? How about investing in a wood chipper? What about a compost site? Trying to haul any brush or yard waste down the lake road was very hard for most of our responsible citizens who would rather not burn.
Getting rid of the “yard waste dumpster” isn’t the solution! Find an easy “accessible” place for getting rid of brush, and you won’t have the “people who can’t read”, using the “yard waste dumpster” for their brush!
Taking away the dumpster just makes it that much harder for us to be “good neighbors”, by keeping our yards looking nice, and NOT polluting the air to do it!
Please find a sensible solution now!
