Ronald Dean Stevenson

Ronald Dean Stevenson was called by Our Lord and Savior on August 27, 2015 in Marshalltown, Iowa. He was born on December 18, 1935 to Robert and Mildred Stevenson of Riceville, Iowa. He was raised by his maternal grandparents, Matthew and Edith Stevenson of Maple Leaf, Iowa.

A private service was held on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Conway-Markham Funeral Chapel in Elma; with burial at Howard Cemetery.

He graduated from High School in Riceville, Iowa in 1954 and served his country from 1955 to 1957 during the Korean War. One June 30, 1958 he married Janice Komarek at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They moved to Toledo, Iowa and raised a family of six children. Ron worked at the Toledo Chronicle Printco, the Iowa Veterans Home and the Tama News Herald.

Ron was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 72 and the Amvets Post 49 of Cedar Falls, Iowa. He was proud of his service to his country and this sense of service continued to his community. He was active in many groups and activities. He has many hobbies and pursuits. His greatest achievement was making a cradle for his first grandchild; that cradle has been used by all of his grandchildren and great grandchildren to date. He family provided Ron with some of his greatest memories.

Ron survived by his wife, Janice, brother Dale Stevenson of Post Falls, Idaho, brother Jerry Stevenson of Charles City, Iowa, sister Donna Lidtke of Lime Springs, Iowa, Children Kevin Stevenson, Bob and Barbara Stevenson, Kim Buenzow, Valerie and Karl Koenig, and Scott and Amanda Stevenson;Matthew and Alli Stevenson, Sara and Blake Lathrop, Jill and Casey Steggall, Laura and Nick Saul, Kelsey Stevenson, Megan Withrow, Katelyn and Nick Penticoff, Hilary Koenig, Evan Stevenson, Jacob Stevenson, Shasta Stevenson, Charles Koenig, and Olivia Stevenson; Grandchildren Triniti Lathrop, Grace Steggall, Zephaniah Lathrop, Collin Saul, Henry Stevenson, Jacob Withrow, and Charlotte Stevenson.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, daughter Rhonda Stevenson and grandson Daniel Stevenson.
