A smooth meeting for the Toledo city council
This week’s Toledo City Council meeting sailed through with ease like a jet ski in a pool. First up was Autumn McFate, who gave the council an update on the memorial wind phone.
Up next, the council approved transfers for the City of Toledo’s debt obligations and fund deficits for the fiscal year end.
The next resolution was to approve the FY27 City of Toledo employee wages. The resolution passed with only Councilman Vesely voting nay.
The council approved a change back policy due to pennies no longer being produced. They will now simply round to the nickel.
The public works department reported that the windstorm took down some trees, and they are working on getting them all cleaned up. A collapsed sewer main on Broadway Street will be worked on.
The city attorney reported winning the nuisance property case against Richards. Updates on other nuisance properties were also reported.
Toledo Police Chief Dan Quigley reported that between June 8 and 21, the department responded to 132 calls and made 6 arrests. They have finished all the tobacco checks.
