As the morning dew sparkled and glittered on the blades of grass, the sun rose anew and brought together the usual batch of outspoken citizens to witness this week’s rhapsody in bureaucracy at the Tama County Supervisor meeting. The roads report was given, mentioning blading, fixing washouts, and guardrails, as well as hauling rock.

Clutier Mayor Linda Pearson represented the city in a discussion with the supervisors about no longer receiving money directly from the Road Use Tax Funds. During the June 15 meeting, the supervisors approved the discontinuation of the dispersion of Road Use tax Funds for Farm to Market extensions to towns in Tama County with a population of fewer than 500 people. This is because the county is taking care of the roads in question. Pearson brought forward this topic, saying not receiving the money was a blow. After some discussion, the supervisors offered a few different ideas for moving forward.

The supervisors also approved the Essential Services Advisory Council year-end report. The appointments of two new sheriff deputies were approved. A liquor license for Dysart Recreation was approved. Claims totaling $193,622.23 were approved.
