Public invited to share ideas at design workshop

Residents will have the opportunity to share their ideas for improving Tama and Toledo at a design workshop hosted by the Tama and Toledo Visioning Committees at the Tama Civic Center auditorium from 10-3 p.m. Wednesday, June 30.

This workshop is the culmination of an input-gathering process to identify transportation needs and opportunities for enhancements in Tama and Toledo.

Information collected at public input gathering events conducted earlier this spring will be incorporated into a conceptual transportation and landscape enhancement plan.

A design team will be working at the Tama Civic Center throughout the workshop to develop a conceptual plan that meets the goals and needs of the Tama-Toledo community.

Landscape architects at Site Design, a Chicago-based firm, are excited to work with Tama and Toledo through the Iowa Living Roadways’ Community Visioning Program this summer. Architects from Site Design bring years of experience of community planning and design to rural areas.

The public is invited to stop by during the design workshop hours to provide input on the designs and ask questions of the process. Results from focus group workshops will also be available.

Final concepts images will be presented to the public later in the summer.
