At this time there are more than 3.1 million breast cancer survivors in the United States. This includes men and women still being treated and those who have completed treatment.

The American Cancer Society’s estimates for breast cancer in the United States for 2019 are:

About 268,600 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed in women.

About 41,760 women will die from breast cancer.

Men can get breast cancer too! It is estimated that 2,670 men will have breast cancer in 2019 with 500 dying from breast cancer.

The average risk of a woman in the United States developing breast cancer sometime in her life is about 12%. This means there is a 1 in 8 chance she will develop breast cancer. This also means there is a 7 in 8 chance she will never have the disease. For more information on breast cancer, visit The American Cancer Society’s website at www.cancer.org/
