Tama County 4-H judges training set for January 27

Join the ranks of 4-H static exhibit judges or expand your project judging areas by attending the 4-H Judges Training on Saturday, Jan. 27, from 9:15a.m. -3:30 p.m., at the Reinig-Toledo Civic Center, 1007 Prospect Dr. (snow date Feb.3).

Participants will learn from Iowa State University Extension and Outreach 4-H Youth Development staff, experienced 4-H Judges and 4-H members how to evaluate static exhibits and how to educate and encourage 4-Her’s during county fair exhibiting.

A panel of judges will sharing insight and information during lunch.

In the afternoon participants will focus on content areas of their choice: Clothing Exhibits and Events, Creative Arts, Communications, Food and Nutrition, Home Improvement, Personal Development, Photography, Science Engineering and Technology, and Ag and Natural Resources.

After successfully attending the six hour training names and content areas will be entered into the statewide 4-H judges’ database.

Registration deadline is Jan. 16.

The $45 fee includes a resource binder and lunch.
