Renewal of the plant levy in 2015 for another 10 years for the Iowa Valley Community College District won overwhelming approval district wide in unofficial returns in the four main counties which have school districts comprising the district.

The levy is 20.5 cents per $1,000 valuation and is used for utility and building maintenance expenses.

The unofficial vote for the four counties was 1,980-YES 1,152-NO.

In Tama County, the measure was defeated – 172-YES 176-NO

The levy carries district-wide however.

The Tama County Board of Supervisors will canvass the vote on Friday.
