TOLEDO CHRONICLE – Storyteller Carol Taylor visited the Toledo Public Library on Tuesday, July 12, for a community-wide storytelling event focusing on the summer reading theme, One World, Many Stories.

The children’s area was packed with kids of all ages anxiously awaiting the presentation. Carol is a retired school teacher who has spent 40 years entertaining and teaching children about the arts. Carol’s philosophy is that “children can learn about themselves and the arts by doing.”

Her program, Puppets Around the Story World, explored the delightful stories: How Anansi Brought the Stories Down (African), Tales of 1001 Nights (Arabia) and The Revenge of the Story Spirits (Far Eastern).

These stories came to life with audience participation of the puppets and musical instruments.

Carol Taylor’s performance was sponsored by the Toledo American Legion Post 72 and a grant from the Iowa Arts Council.
