Absentee Ballot Request Forms Now Available

Any registered voter in Iowa can now request an absentee ballot through their county auditor.

To download an absentee ballot request you can do so by visiting the Iowa Secretary of State website.

Signed and completed absentee ballot request forms must be delivered to your county auditor. For Tama County that is Laura Kopsa. Her office is located in the Tama County Administration Building. The address is 104 W. State Street in Toledo. Hours are Monday-Friday 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Iowa experienced a record voter turn out during the June 2 primary election. The response appeared largely due to the amount of absentee ballots cast. In 2016 Tama County had 875 total voters in the primary of which 780 voted at the polls and 95 voted absentee. In 2020 there was a total of 2,526 cast, 649 were on election day and 1,877 were absentee.
