Hanus – Kvidera reunion held

A reunion of the Joseph & Fannie Hanus, Anton and Mary Hanus, Frank and Barbara Hanus, Frank and Fannie Kvidera, and Joe and Anna Kvidera families was held on August 7th at the Outback Camp ground Toledo, Iowa This reunion brought together over 60 family members who last met in 2014. A pot-luck dinner was served, an auction held, games played and updates on the family tree happenings were enjoyed by all. Special recognition went to the veterans present. A poem written by Darlene Brandt was read in honor and memory of family member (Uncle) Albert Hanus who was mortally wounded during WWII. The youngest member attending was Knox William Graves son of Carl Graves and Paula Miller and the eldest member Dolores Yuska (Traer).

Family happenings over the past two years had 6 marriages, 13 births, 25 couples celebrating milestone wedding anniversaries of which attending were Joyce & Robert Babinet – 35 years, Janet & Joe Alexander – 45 years and 61 years together Keith & Arlene Alexander. Sadly missed are Floyd Seth, Melvin Herink, John Kinchle and Jean LaRue Hanus. Relatives traveled from Georgia, California, and Iowa. Organizers of the event were Sharlene McCord with assistant Grandson Tom Hipkins, Betty & Bob Melvin, and Carol Wilcox.
