Story Time Thursdays is held with Brenda at the Toledo Public Library from 3:45 – 4:30 and always includes a hands-on craft project. A craft project usually takes two Thursdays to complete. Recently, the kids were very excited to get started on each phase of making a Paper-Mache pig bank; we even made a few extras just in case there were new story time attendees. The progression of the project involved the following steps: making, drying, and painting, drying again and then decorating them. For the final step, the ears were attached and a slot was cut for their coins. Each pig bank was beautifully painted with colorful and creative designs. All the pigs that were created now have a home.
