Arrest Report – Tama County Jail

March 10

James N Bullshoe, 29, of Tama was arrested by Tama Police on a warrant for 1st degree theft and for driving while barred, driving under suspension and for operating a vehicle without a permit. Bullshoe was released on March 12 on bond.

March 11

Scott Michael Lewis, 35, of Marion was arrested by Dysart Police for driving while barred. Lewis was released the same day on his own recognizance.

Keri Ann Kopriva, 42, of Elberon was arrested by the Tama County Sheriff’s Office on a warrant.

Charles Lynn Poafpybitty, 47, of Toledo was arrested by the Tama County Sheriff’s Office for violation of probation.

Dakota James Collinson, 20, of Waterloo was arrested by the Tama County Sheriff’s Office for violation of probation.

Tyler John Pohlman, 37, of Hampton was arrested by Meskwaki Police on warrant and for violating a no contact order. Pohlman was released on March 13 on his own recognizance.

Shanelle Amber Bear, 32, of Toledo was arrested by Toledo Police on a warrant for failure to appear in court. Bear was released on March 15 after being sentenced.

Andrez Marcoz Magana, 42, of Tama was arrested by Toledo Police for domestic assault causing bodily injury. Magana was released on March 12 on his own recognizance.

March 12

Rolando Keahna, 18, of Tama was arrested by Toledo Police for OWI (1st offense), improper use of lanes and for violation of an instructional driver permit. Keahna was released the same day on his own recognizance.

A juvenile was arrested by Tama Police for possession of a controlled substance and for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Allen Lee Roy Schrader, 32, of Tama was arrested by the Tama County Sheriff’s Office for violation of parole.

Derek J Hutchinson, 33, of Tama was arrested by Tama Police for violating a no contact order, assault of a law officer, interference with official acts and 5th degree theft.

Cynthia Kay McSweeney, 64, of Tama was arrested by Tama Police for assaulting a law officer and for interference with official acts.

March 13

Miguel Angel Guzman Jr., 28, of Tama was arrested by Toledo Police for OWI (2nd offense), possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, failure to obey stop/yield sign, failure to provide proof of financial liability. Guzman was released on March 13 on conditions of a pre-trial release.

Carl Jefferson Thornton, 74, of Des Moines was arrested by the Tama County Sheriff’s Office for driving with a license that was revoked and for speeding.

Thomas Lynn Dodd, 66, of Marshalltown was arrested by Toledo Police for OWI (1st offense) and for violation of a restricted drivers license. Dodd was released on March 14 on his own recognizance.

Isaiah Caleb Singleton, 19, of Cedar Falls was arrested by Toledo Police for speeding and OWI (1st offense). Singleton was released on March 14 on his own recognizance.

March 14

Miguel Angel Salgado, 29, of Tama was arrested by Toledo Police for OWI (1st offense), driving under suspension, possession of a controlled substance, fraudulent use of registration, operating a non-registered vehicle, failure to provide proof of financial liability and possession of drug paraphernalia. Salgado was released the same day on his own recognizance.

A juvenile was arrested by Toledo Police for assault of a law officer and for interference with official acts.

Justin Dean Prince, 38, of Toledo was arrested by Toledo Police for domestic abuse assault, false imprisonment and for 3rd degree criminal mischief.

March 15

Brayden Paul Breya, 18, of Tama was arrested by Toledo Police for possession of a controlled substance.

March 16

Blaine David Hildahl, 18, of Tama was arrested by the Tama County Sheriff’s Office on a warrant for possession of drug paraphernalia. Hildahl was released the same day after pleading guilty.

Sylvester Zarwolo Marton, 36, of Des Moines was arrested by the Tama County Sheriff’s Office for reckless driving, driving under suspension, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, failure to maintain registration plates, failure to provide proof of financial liability and for speeding.

Justin Dean Prince, 38, of Toledo was arrested by the Tama County Sheriff’s Office on three counts of probation violation.

March 17

Scott Edward Lewis, 56, of Belle Plaine was arrested by the Tama County Sheriff’s Office on two counts of 1st degree theft.

COURT NEWS

Scott Michael Lewis, 36, of Marion, made an initial appearance in custody in district court on March 11 on charges including one count of driving while barred (aggravated misdemeanor). Charges stem from an incident which took place on March 11 along Wilson Street in Dysart. According to the criminal complaint, Lewis was observed driving from behind a vacant building. Lewis was subsequently stopped by an officer with the Dysart Police Dept. due to being barred from driving for being a habitual offender. A preliminary hearing is set for March 29, 2022, beginning at 9:00 a.m. Lewis is being represented by attorney Scott Hunter of the Marshalltown Public Defender’s Office.

Scott Edward Lewis, 56, of Belle Plaine, made an initial appearance in custody in district court on March 18 on charges including two counts of first degree theft (Class C felony). Charges stem from an incident which took place on Dec. 14, 2021, in Chelsea. According to the criminal complaint, Lewis allegedly applied for a loan on Dec. 14 at the Chelsea Savings Bank in Chelsea for the purpose of obtaining an excavator. Lewis allegedly received $51,500 in the form of a cashier’s check to purchase a 2012 Bobcat mini excavator. Lewis allegedly deposited the cashier’s check into his Benton County State Bank (Blairstown) account and began withdrawing from the account in small and large increments using ATMs, checks, cash withdrawals, and wire transfers. On Feb. 7, 2022, the Benton County State Bank closed Lewis’s account with a negative balance. Lewis allegedly never made any payments on the $51,500 loan. A preliminary hearing is set for April 5, 2022, at 9:00 a.m. Lewis is represented by attorney Scott Hunter with the Marshalltown Public Defender’s Office.
