On March 14, South Tama County High School hosted their annual dodgeball tournament in the Roundhouse. To get into the tournament, there is a cost of $3 per person, and all the money is used as a fundraiser for the upcoming prom. This event brings out people from all over the community, young and old, as they pack into the Roundhouse to compete for their team.

As the tournament got underway, teams consisting of elementary, middle, and high school students along with adults competed to advance their teams to the championships. Eventually after hours and hours of dodgeball it came down to two high school teams in the final match. Both teams entered the championship game with no losses, so it turned into a best out of three face off.

The team “Big Ballers,” led by high school student Junior Placencia, won the first game convincingly. But the opposing team called “Team Name” led by South Tama high school graduate Trusten Rosenberger came back to win game two.

As the third and final game started up, Big Ballers started out fast, getting many opposing players out, but “Team Name” was able to come back in the end and even it out. In the end, it came down to Rosenberger who was unable to catch a throw by Placencia which made team “Big Ballers” your 2024 STC dodgeball champions. Overall, this event proved once again to be a success and a fun way for the community to be active and raise money for South Tama’s upcoming prom.
