South Tama Archery Club season begins

CONTRIBUTED PHOTO — The STC archery season is officially underway.

On December 2, 2023 the South Tama archers were joined by archers from Denver, Dike – New Hartford, Jesup, Mount Vernon, and West Fork at their home tournament to start off the season. Over 350 archers competed at the tournament which allowed archers to shoot Bullseye and 3D.

Three schools competed at Bullseye Elementary level with Mount Vernon taking first place followed by Jesup and South Tama. At the Middle School level Mount Vernon came in first again followed by South Tama, Jesup, Dike-New Hartford and Denver. Rounding off the team scoring was the High School level which saw Mount Vernon on top once again with the remaining teams coming in as follows: Jesup, Dike-New Hartford, South Tama and Denver.

For 3D the four schools competing at the Middle and High school levels were South Tama, Mount Vernon, West Fork and Dike-New Hartford. Mount Vernon came out on top for both levels followed by West Fork, Dike-New Hartford and South Tama.

Saturday December 9, 2023 the South Tama Archery Club traveled to Dike-New Hartford to compete. In the Bullseye competition Connor Bradley took 1st, Alexandro Placencia 3rd, Hunter Stanton 5th and Tucker Atcher 9th for Elementary boys while Milah Wanatee came in 4th for Elementary girls. For Middle School Ava Boldt placed 2nd and Shelby Ford took 5th place for girls, Timm Chandonia took 1st for High School Boys while Olivia Bradley came in 4th for High School girls.

In the 3D competition, Connor Bradley and Alexandro Placencia took 1st and 2nd places respectively for Elementary boys. Jayden Hiles grabbed 7th for Middle School boys while for Middle School girls Ava Boldt took the 1st place spot, Shelby Ford 4th, Clarissa Dvorak 7th and Isabel Gomez at 9th. For High School Timm Chandonia took 1st place for the boys and the girls came in with Olivia Bradley at 7th, Grace Gomez 9th and Emma Kern 10th.
