South Tama

South Tama County had a prolific state qualifying meet, qualifying for five events with the boys’ team and six with the girls’ squad.

• JoJo Tyynismaa qualified in four events — the 100 dash, the 200 dash, the 100 hurdles and the 400 hurdles — and is a top-15 seed in all four. In the 100 dash she qualified as the 15th seed with a 13.2, while in the 200 she will be the 13th seed at 26.53. JoJo will be the No. 2 seed in the 100 hurdles after posting a qualifying time of 15.25 and the No. 2 in the 400 hurdles with a 1:06.47.

• Emma Harwick qualified automatically for the high jump with a best of 4-10, winning her qualifying meet. Kortney Babinat qualified for the shot put with a best of 36-8 1/2 and is the 23rd seed.

• Trusten Rosenberger qualified for the boys’ 400 with a time of 52.27 and is the 20th seed. Tommy Tyynismaa will be the seventh seed in the 800 at 2:00.10, and James Brant is the eighth seed in the 1,600 at 4:35.10.

• Rosenberger will also be in the 400 hurdles with a time of 57.5 qualifying him 11th. The 4×800 relay of Brant, Rosenberger, Tommy Tyynismaa and Jonathan Meyer qualified as the No. 8 seed with an 8:27.46.
