Redhawks best rival Trojans in boys, girls golf

South Tama (left) meets with up with North Tama (right) before their clash at the Tama Toledo Country Club.

Heavy wind and a storm brewing later that night was not going to hold back rivals South Tama and North Tama from competing against each other at the Tama Toledo Country Club. Despite wind upwards of 25 MPH and cloudy conditions nothing was going to stop these teams from competing. North Tama’s head coach Trevor Larson couldn’t have been more excited after there had been several cancellations due to weather.

“It’s the best weather we’ve had in weeks,” he said.

The North Tama girls put together an 11 stroke victory with a final score posted of 226-237 in the windy conditions. On the boys side, South Tama dropped their first meet of the season by 12 strokes, 185-197.
