Barrett Jesina runs through the STC Invite cross country course in Tama on Sept. 13. Jesina won the boys middle school race handily with a time of 12:46.00, a full 23 seconds ahead of the runner-up from Grundy Center. In the girls middle school race, three STC Trojans competed including Alex Castanon, Khloe Balderas and Edith Mora-Martinez. Castanon was the highest finisher of the trio, coming in 32nd with a time of 20:52.8. The Meskwaki Warriors fielded four runners including Dorothy Bear, Karyson Wolf, Eva Roberts and Kobe Wabaunasee. Bear was the top finisher for the Warriors, coming in 16th in the girls race with a time of 17:04.2.
