STC host Spartans for boy/girl double header

South Tama hosted Grundy Center for a girl/boy Varsity double header Monday, Jan. 18.

Grundy Center swept the Trojans 72-43 in the girls game and 63-30 in the boys game.

Leading scorers for the Trojans were Eli Keahna with 8 points for the boys and Carissa Musgrave with 18 points for the girls.

The South Tama boys recently broke a 49 game losing streak defeating Benton 47-44 Jan. 12.

The STC girls have yet to win a game this season.

The Grundy Center girls have won the past three matchups with the Trojans while the Grundy Center boys won last year’s contest after losing five straight to STC. The two teams have been competing in a non-conference contest since 2009.

The boys will host Center Point Urbana tonight (Friday) while the girls will be on the road to face the Stormin Pointers.
