South Tama (0-18) varsity girls hosted Benton Community (11-7) on Friday, January 31 for a WaMaC Conference game. The night marked the 18th straight loss this season for the Trojans. Benton defeated South Tama 56-16.

The loss was the third lowest scoring game for the Trojans this season. Out of the 18 games played thus far, STC has failed to break 20 points in eight contests, that works out to about half. Two other teams in Class 3A have also gone winless this season. Oelwein is 0-17 and Saydel is 0-17.

It’s been a tough season. Getting back to the basics of basketball including ball handling, dribbling, and passing will be something the Trojans need to put a considerable amount of energy into if they don’t want a repeat of this season next year.

STC has two more regular season games this year. They will be home Friday evening to host Williamsburg and again Tuesday, Feb. 11 to host Independence. At the time of publication deadline we do not know post season pairings but they were released Feb. 5 and 6.
