Fritz Named A-R-C Wrestler of the Week

CEDAR RAPIDS – The American Rivers Conference released its weekly performers Monday, Jan.13, with Brady Fritz representing Wartburg as the Wrestler of the Week.
The sophomore native of Tama, Iowa, went 4-0 at the NWCA National Duals in Louisville, Ky., Jan. 10-11, helping guide the Knights to their 12th NWCA title in program history.
Fritz, ranked second nationally at 141, earned a major decision versus Millikin, pins over opponents from Baldwin Wallace and Wabash, and capped off his efforts with a 3-1 decision over top-ranked and defending national champion David Flynn of top-seeded Augsburg University. He improved his record to 16-3 on the season.
Wartburg returns to action this Thursday, Jan. 16, with a conference dual in Decorah at Luther College at 7 p.m.
Sports Editor’s Note: Brady Fritz is the son of Brian and Diana Fritz. He graduated from South Tama County in 2018.
In high school he was a three-time All-State, three-time State Placewinner (second and third twice), Four-time All-Conference and a National Honor Society member.
