Shots weren’t falling for the Trojans last week. The varsity boys team hosted Marion on Tuesday, December 10 for a cross conference contest. Marion ran away with a 60-16 win over STC. Marion comes off a state tournament berth last season in which they nearly upset eventual 3A champs Oskaloosa, 51-49.

The Trojans were 5 of 31 from field goal range and just 1-11 from three point range. STC went scoreless in the first quarter and scored two points in the second quarter. Sonny DeMarce and Eli Keahna led the Trojans with four points each. Most of the offensive production came in the fourth quarter. The Trojans scored 11 points in the last eight minutes.

Tyler Moran and DeMarce led defensively with four rebounds each.

While the boys were home the girls played on the road. They fell to second ranked Class 4A Marion 95-12. Tylese Rosenberger finished the night with seven points. Adriana Cervantes had four rebounds. Marion returns as a three time state finals contender after falling to North Scott in the 2019 Championship game.

The boys will be on the road Friday evening to West Delaware.
