East Marshall defeats the Trojans in non-conference matchup

South Tama County (2-19) hosted East Marshall (17-4) on Friday, June 18 for a non-conference contest. The Mustangs topped the Trojans 13-0 in five innings.

Pitching for the Trojans was sophomore Ashlynn Ellenbecker. Ellenbecker threw for five innings and allowed 13 hits, 13 runs, 8 earned runs. She walked no batters and struck out 2.

The Trojans had two hits one from Shelby Slaven and one from Ellenbecker.

Pitching for the Mustangs was junior Reagan McIllrath. Leading the Mustangs from the plate were Melinda Puumala, Maria Rasmusson and Reagan McIllrath who each had three hits.

It’s been a long stretch of losses for the Trojans. There last win this season was against Mediapolis at the Centerville tournament on Saturday, June 1.

The Trojans will be home again on June 24 hosting Williamsburg for a varsity double header.
