Musgrave named to Class 3 All-State Second Team

DES MOINES – The Iowa Print Sports Writers Association (IPSWA) announced the 2019 girls basketball all-state teams on Tuesday. The teams were selected by print sports writers in Iowa during a meeting on Saturday.
South Tama senior, Jessica Musgrave was named too Class 3A, Second Team. Musgrave closed out her season averaging 14.6 ppg, had a 42.1% shooting percentage as well as 97 steals, 27 blocks and 140 rebounds. Musgrave was awarded to the WaMaC West 1st team all-conference, Iowa Basketball Coaches Association Class 3A, Region 7 All- Region Team and
IGCA All District Basketball Team Class 3A, Southeast
A 5’9 senior, Musgrave will be continuing her career with Upper Iowa University next school year. She is the daughter of Chris and Carrie Musgrave of Toledo.
Class 5A West Des Moines Valley senior Zoe Young was selected as Miss Iowa Basketball.
A 5-foot-10 senior guard and a University of Maryland signee, Young averaged 23.4 points and 5.6 rebounds per game as Valley (20-5) captured the Class 5A state championship. She was the all-tournament captain and shot 56.2 percent from the field.
